Giraffe Car

 A magnet suspended below the car was pulled down as it passed over a steel rail mounted in the track, this moved a lever and the arm, inside the wagon with the giraffe mounted on it, rocked, moving the giraffe down to duck under the trackside telltale flag. A return spring moved it back up when the magnet was released.
